Professor Donna Albano
Donna Albano is an Associate Professor in the Hospitality & Tourism Management Studies Program at the Stockton University.
This was her third Faculty Led Study Tour. She prides herself in providing engaging learning environments where students can learn and grow. Alyssa Larsen Alyssa is recent Hospitality and Tourism graduate of Stockton University. This was not only her first trip to Spain, but to Europe as well. Her highlights included: Learning how to cook paella, visiting the Barcelona Tourism Bureau, and enjoying all the local Cava. This trip has inspired her to begin to learn the Spanish language and study for her masters abroad in the future. Jessica Minard Jessica recently completed her Junior year at Stockton University and is studying Hospitality & Tourism Management. This was her first trip abroad and looks forward to visiting Europe soon again. On this trip she fell in love with the culture, food, wine, people, and architecture that Barcelona, Spain had to offer. Jennifer Heller Jenn recently graduated from Stockton University with a degree in Psychology. This was her first of many trips to Europe. Jenn enjoyed being immersed in a different culture. The highlights she enjoyed most about this trip were: learning how to cook paella and walking down the mountain in Montserrat. Allie Pirozzi Allie will be a senior by the end of the Summer semester and is studying Hospitality and Tourism Management. This was her second time studying abroad with school but first time traveling to Spain and already wants to go back! Allie enjoyed embracing the culture, art, food and beverages, and learning about the hospitality and tourism that Spain has to offer. Gabrielle DiMeglio Gabrielle recently just completed her junior year at Stockton University studying Hospitality and Tourism Management. On this trip she fell in love with the tapas, art and culture of Barcelona and Spain in general. This trip has encouraged her to go for a masters and study abroad. One of her favorite memories from this trip was the Dali Museum. She loved the many perspectives someone can have when admiring his art. Moira Conville Moira recently finished her sophomore year at Stockton University studying Hospitality and Tourism Management. This is her second trip abroad and she looks forward to adding many more stamps to her passport! She enjoyed learning about the culture and history of Barcelona and the day trips to Montserrat and Girona were highlights of the trip. Amber Davies Amber just graduated Stockton University with her Bachelor's of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management Studies. This trip will be her first time out of the country. Amber studied Spanish for around 8 years as well as having family members who spoke Spanish, so one of aspect of the trip that she is excited about is using her knowledge and being able to communicate with the people she will interact with. She is also excited to go out of the city and visit Costa Brava to see the historical ruins as well as enjoy a slower paced few days! Gloria Finnan Gloria just finished her junior year at Stockton University as a Hospitality and Tourism Management Studies major. This trip is her first time overseas. This Study Tour is the best class she has ever taken! Her favorite park of the trip was Monserrat and the Dali Museum. Her absolute favorite moment was being able to recreate a picture by the Sagrada Familia. About 21 years ago, Gloria's parents, who were pregnant with Gloria, took a photo together by the gate of the church. Gloria got to take a picture in that exact spot! After taking 8 years of Spanish throughout middle and high school. This was the perfect opportunity to put her Spanish skills to the test. It was very enjoyable being able to read and translate items on the menu to classmates. The trip was unforgettable and she hopes to return there again some day. Conor Schaible Conor is currently studying Hospitality & Tourism Management and is starting his senior year at Stockton University this fall. This was the first time going to not only Spain, but Europe as well. Seeing Montserrat was one of the many favorite experiences he was able to be a part of! This trip has shined so much light on the history and cultures of Spain, and he will most definitely be going back. This was an amazing trip! Tiffany DiDonato Tiffany just completed her sophomore year at Stockton University studying hospitality and tourism management. This was her first study abroad experience as well as her first time overseas. She loved the incredible architecture around the city, the view while hiking Montserrat, and the beautiful city of Costa Brava! Making great friends and staying busy from sun up until way past sun down made this experience unforgettable. This trip made her excited to continue seeing the world by traveling more and studying abroad for a semester in the near future! Allison Bluze Allison is going into her senior year at Stockton, and is a Psychology major with a minor in Childhood Studies. Even though she isn't a hospitality major, she was still able to enjoy every aspect of this trip and learning more about the hospitality and tourism industry! This was her third time leaving the US and first time in Spain! Alli really enjoyed trying new foods and experiencing the Spanish culture. Her highlights included, learning to cook Spanish dishes, visiting Montserrat, and the beach in Costa Brava! Jorie Berube Jorie is a senior at Stockton University and chose the Barcelona Study Abroad Tour along with her friends to cap off a great semester. Looking to experience the local culture, expand my knowledge of the decades of history, fine Spanish art the likes of Gaudi, Dali and Picasso, drink the local wines and Cava specific to the region, and getting to know the welcoming people that call this home. Gabriella Titus Gabriella "Gab" Titus is going into her senior year at Stockton University as a hospitality and tourism management student. She has never traveled out of the country, so this was a completely new experience for her. She loved going to the museums, especially Picasso, and she really enjoyed all of the amazing food and views Barcelona had to offer. She also loved learning about the tourism industry there that was really sparked by the 1992 Olympics that were held there. The trip inspired her to want to travel abroad more and learn about all the world has to offer. Maria Lada SanFilippo Lada is currently studying Hospitality & Tourism Management at Stockton University and is graduating this fall semester. This is Lada’s first time traveling out of the country and most definitely not her last. Aside from eating amazing food non-stop Lada enjoyed viewing the beautiful architecture and learning about the amazing history of Spain. This trip gave her a newfound love for art, especially after visiting Dali Theatre-Museum. This was a life changing experience for her and she definitely plans on exploring more of the world as well as thoughts of possibly working internationally. Van Kleemeyer Van is a Senior at Stockton University studying Hospitality and Tourism Management. I learned a lot from this trip including the different perspectives people in Catalunya have, and how planning tourism can really affect a popular city. My favorite part of the trip was for sure the hop on hop off tour. It was great seeing so many different parts of Barcelona in just one afternoon. I also loved seeing the architectural details of Gaudi's work. This was an experience of a lifetime and I definitely want to go back to Spain in the future! Brad Rosstedt Brad is a senior at Stockton University, graduating in may from the Hospitality and Tourism Management program. This is his first time traveling outside of the Western Hemisphere and to Europe. The part that was most interesting while in Barcelona was the large amount of street art and graffiti that made the walls of the city colorful and expressive. I am also hopeful that this will be the first trip to Europe among many. |
